We address the root cause of disease: aging

In a broken healthcare system that reacts rather than prevents, there’s no focus on the underlying cause of most chronic diseases: aging itself. Lifestyle is only part of the solution because aging affects how your body responds to sleep, exercise, and diet.

Science has shown that by addressing the biggest drivers of age-related decline, we can actually make an impact on human healthspan—how long you can live actively, independently, and free of chronic disease.

We watched people we love age into a system that waits until you’re sick to start caring. We built IRON Rx to shift the focus: to help people prevent decline before it even starts, and enjoy more healthy years.

Designing a future where health lasts longer

Most Americans spend a third of their life in decline. By focusing on preventative, science-backed care, we aim to shift aging from an inevitable decline to a journey you control.

Through evidence-based therapies that target the root causes of age-related decline, we’re building a future where health is the norm and sickness is the exception. Our goal is to extend the years spent in good health.

Globally recognized research that helps you live better

With our in-house trials, PEARL trial, and XPRIZE recognition, we don’t just bring you the latest science, we actively advance the longevity research field.

We identify and evaluate the latest clinically-backed treatments that can help you take control over your aging.

Our Stanford PhD-led Research Team works to continuously optimize our protocols, so you get the best outcomes.

We run our own trials, including the PEARL Trial, and are recognized as a top 10 team in the global XPRIZE Healthspan competition.

OUR FRAMEWORK

The 12 hallmarks of aging

Our framework is built around 12 science-backed root causes behind how and why we age. By addressing them early, we focus on prevention so you can stay ahead of decline.

01

Genomic Instability

As cells age, their chromosomes become less stable. Failing repair mechanisms let mutations accumulate, leading to aging and disease.

02

Telomere Attrition

As cells divide, telomeres shorten until telomerase, the enzyme that maintains them, is silenced and cell division stops.

03

Epigenetic Alteration

This damage changes how the genome is read, not its DNA sequence, and accumulates as cells are exposed to environmental factors over time.

04

Loss of Proteostasis

As cells age, stress causes proteins to lose stability, autophagy starts to fail, and misfolded proteins accumulate.

05

Deregulated Nutrient Sensing

Metabolic activity puts stress on our cells. Changes in nutrient availability and composition cause cells to age faster.

06

Mitochondrial Dysfunction

As cells age, oxidative stress damages mitochondrial integrity, compromising function and triggering aging-related events.

07

Cellular Senescence

This occurs when aging cells lose the ability to divide, stopping growth due to damage or missing components.

08

Stem Cell Exhaustion

Stem cells lose their ability to divide, and once they migrate, differentiate, or die, they aren’t replaced.

09

Altered Intercellular Communication

As cells age, increased self-preserving signals cause damage elsewhere, contributing to declining tissue health.

10

Microbiome Dysfunction

You may notice this through digestive changes, while it can also affect immune function and drive inflammation.

11

Impaired Autophagy

Over time, cells become less efficient at recovering from stress and keeping themselves in good working order.

12

Chronic Inflammation

Constant low-level inflammation can show up as stiff joints, lingering soreness, and slower recovery after exertion.
